10th Armoured Centaur Battery, Royal Artillery.

Provided artillery support to the British Parachute forces after D-Day

The unit has been painted to reflect the change over from the Royal Marine Armoured Support Battery to the 10th Armoured Battery. The tanks all carry the likely markings for the 10th but some still retain their Royal Marine flashes with their battery numbers.

The tank names and serial numbers are all from photo's of Centaur tanks during the Normandy landings and Campaign.

The 360 degree compass markings on the turret was to allow indirect bombardments under the guidence of an outside observer. The command Shermans also carried these markings in the photographs.
